Most Fiero cylinder blocks will exchange with many GM cars since the engines were widely used by GM. This is not true of '87 and '88 Fieros with 2.8L engines. The'87 and '88 2.8L blocks are each unique and will not exchange with each other. We are not sure why but presume that something like crank bearings or coolant passages are different. This does not mean that '87 and '88 engines cannot be swapped in their entirety.
'84 2.5LCylinder blocks listed for the '85-86 2.5L Fiero can be used in the '84 Fiero if non-roller lifters are used. The 1984 2.5 L Fiero did not use roller lifters.
